Meet Loranne & Robert. A very lovely couple from Orange County. Their wedding was at the beautiful "French Estate." A historic residence in the heart of Orange. The sun was shinning, temperatures were high, with flowers in full bloom. I love this place, it's very cozy, warm, and intimate. The kind of place that's not going to have another event going on at the same time. Here are some photos:

Amy & Sujan - Richard Nixon Library Wedding

It's 12:20pm I'm blogging from the Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. It's turned out to be a nice day. The grounds are very pretty here. There are rose gardens everywhere, with a water fountain memorial in the center of the grounds. There's as you can imagine Richard Nixon memorabilia everywhere. It's a great place for a wedding and also to spend a morning touring the grounds and learning a little history about our 37th president. I'm here photographing the wedding of Amy and Sujan. It's a traditional Hindu wedding, that I kid you not lasts forever. Everyone is wearing rich color costumes of bright reds and oranges and blues, my favorite. I think the dominating color is red. The ladies are sporting lot's beautiful Henna tattoos. There are some westerners wearing the beautiful costumes too, I think they look pretty cool. I'm very honored to be here to photograph Amy & Sujan's wedding in Yorba Linda. The ceremony just finished and I'm getting ready with my 2nd photographer to cover the formal photos so off to look for some soft shaded area but large enough to cover large groups. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Canon Irvine

I just picked up my gear from the Canon repair center in Irvine. It's awesome to have this place so conveniently placed nearby me. I can bring all of my cameras, all of my flashes and lenses and have them calibrated for optimal performance and specifications. The people in there are very nice to deal with, it's such a big contrast to when my gear was Nikon and I had to deal with a center in New Jersey. I love this place. Convenience and good service makes a difference!

Cande & Lucy

I photographed Cande & Lucy last week, both fellow Christian brothers and sisters. The session was done in Fullerton and in Newport Beach. It's become typical to photograph at more than one location and with a change of wardrobe. They are quite the sweet couple. I think they look so great. I love shooting in Fullerton. It must be the urban thing.
A lot of my favorite images have this feel factor that's almost indescribable. Kind of like this one.
The blue tone from the sky and the texture of the building makes it work for me. Add the kiss and I like it.
Another nice "feel good" images. Love the backlighting on this one.
Love the look of Awesome panoramic, rich blues and great dynamic range. It's a 24mm on the full sensor 5D.
A little bit of texture.
Gotta love Ruby's.
Here's a shot by the water. The sun's pretty close to setting. The warm tones with backlighting is one of my favorite ways to shoot.
I think they look great together!

Del's Senior Session

Have some photos to share of Del, my ex-bosses son. He's graduating from high school next month and is very proudly headed to UC Santa Cruz. We shot this last weekend in LA when the weather was just unbearable. We were that close to putting off to another day, but we made the best of it and I think that he's a very photogenic and handsome looking young guy. Congratulations on graduating and making mom and pop very proud!
Great contrast elements all around, great smile and sharp eyes. The reflection of the water is nice also.
I didn't know how the red shirt would turn out. I think it looks lively, I like it!

Leslie & Jacob - LA Union Station Engagement Session

Oh I love these photos of Leslie & Jake, I think they're a very cool couple. We went out to LA Union station & to the Griffith Observatory. These twp places make for such a coll backdrop for engagement sessions. The station has so much character and historical meaning, and the observatory was recently renovated. They were such a great choice for them. Here are some photos.

Brian & Mandi - Muckenthaler Wedding (Fullerton)

It's supposed to be Spring, warmer weather and all that, but it's been kind of cold lately and me don't like it too much. Saturday was a day to head out to Fullerton for the wedding of Brian & Mandi who's Hawaiian culture was splashed all over with with rich and vibrant colors, coconut palm trees, and a white tent with much needed gas heaters. Her bridesmaids wore the IN color for 2008, green and the groomsman wore a striking oxford gray. My thanks to Conrad Lim for coming out with me to 2nd photograph this wedding.

Ashley & Jeff E-Session

It's spring break for Ashley & Jeff of Costa Mesa, both pursuing an undergraduate from nearby Vanguard. They are this very cool couple in their early 20's from Costa Mesa. The wedding is in May on the cool grounds of Rancho Capistrano, the satellite campus for the Crystal Cathedral. Ashey & Jeff are both Christian, a connection I personally share with them. We headed out to famous Balboa Island where I've been doing e-sessions quite frequently, it's a favorite spot in the area. The challenge for me is to come away with fresh and exciting images that are not repeated over and over from previous sessions, I forced myself into new places and sure enough this place is gorgeous all around. A&J were dressed as perfect as possible, wearing Nautica colors to match the ambiance of the Newport Harbor, I couldn't have asked for anything better.

WPPI 2008

I'm back from the largest Wedding Photographers conference of the year, WPPI 2008 at Ballys/Paris in Vegas. There were a lot of great presenters, some celeb photographers and big guns of the industry speaking to photographers in wide range of topics. Also going on was the the trade show which showcases hundreds of vendors with an array of products to the wedding photography industry. I was looking for new and up and coming trends specially in the album arena because there a lot of albums companies and most offer the same products which is good and not good. I often place myself of the shoes of my clients and when you go from one photographer to the other to other, soon enough I think they'll all be looking the same and who wants that, right? So for me, I was looking for products that are fresh and very new, sort of catching them as they're up and coming and I'm very happy because I found what I was looking for.
